I was born on February 12, 1962,
and raised in Green Lane, Pennsylvania.
Jane and Bill are my parents, and Sally is my sister.
I attended school in the Upper Perkiomen School District,
playing trumpet in the band and performing in school plays.
Sally and her husband Jim Semper have two lovely girls,
Corinne and Chelsea.
I earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Math and Computer Science
from
West Chester University in 1984.
(that's my advisor, Dr. Weaver).
I received a Master of Science degree in 1986 from the
Department of Computer Science
at Brown University.
While there, I worked with their
Computer Graphics Research Group.
Dr. Andries van Dam was my advisor.
From July of 1987 through October of 2001 I was on the research staff at the Program of Computer Graphics at Cornell University, working for Dr. Donald P. Greenberg.
In November of 2001 I began working for the GIS group of Autodesk here in Ithaca, NY.
I've been married to Karen McCaffery since September of 2001, and in March of 2003 we were blessed with a son, Sean. Life is good!
